Assignments
1. Synopses of Weekly Readings
Weekly readings will be assigned to the students by the instructor, and must be read before class. An informative synopsis must be written and posted by every student to the CEIBA site by 12:00 noon before each class.
2. Case Study
Case studies are part of the just-in-time (JIT) management. They instill deep learning, and provide opportunities to examine theory and practice. They are useful in examining controversial points of view, and served as a basis in future problem-solving through their problem-based approach. Students are expected to separate into groups and conduct case studies given by the instructor and leading discussions. Case study reports should be uploaded to CEIBA site in Microsoft Word (.doc) format.
3. Term Paper
Students enrolled in the course are expected to write an academic journal article on library management issues that is suitable for publication in related SSCI/TSSCI journals. Topics are selected by the students and must be approved by the instructors. Students should review articles from peer-reviewed library management journals before writing. Also, references requirements should also be met in their journal articles. Students should carefully edit their articles to prevent plagiarism. This assignment will be revised by the instructors, and then submitted to related journals.
There will be two options in writing your term paper: (1) Theory paper (a literature review) and (2) Empirical research paper. A hard copy should be given to the instructor, along with an electronic version uploaded to the CEIBA site in Microsoft Word (.doc) format.
Student’s Responsibilities
Students enrolled in the course should read all assigned readings beforehand and effectively communicate with peers and the instructor. Students are expected to actively participate in discussions. Also, noteworthy information and materials are also welcomed to share in class or on CEIBA.
